Michigan State University vs. Central Michigan University

One of the reasons Jack and I are in East Lansing is the MSU v. CMU football game. I graduated from CMU in May and I graduated from MSU in 1999. Seemed sort of right to goto the game and so I claimed the spare ticket and we came down here.
Over the week Mom sent me an email with information about a Kids event held by the Alumni Association. Jack, Dad and I drove to the game, Mom followed in my car and we met up near the tunnel.
I carried Jack on my shoulders for maybe 20-30 minutes. I love walking with him on my shoulders. Here we are outside of Wells Hall where I failed a German class in 1998.

Very foggy in the morning. The fog would later burn off and the sun turned me a nice shade of pink. Not burned, but not milky white either.

XL shirt fit great. The humongous clown pants I will be getting rid of.

We missed the initial tent party but ended up in front of the IM West (where I took a Canadian History class) and we ended up at the Meijer area where kids could play.
Here we see Dad and Jack engaging in some hoop action.

Dad being followed by the band.

Inside the tent, looking at bugs behind glass.

Sitting to snack a bit before Dad and I went into the game and before Mom and Jack walked back to the car.

Dit-dit-dit...Check out the Mad Decent App from the Apple App Store. Its great and it keeps two year olds occupied.

Somewhere my brother's heart is swelling with pride.

The look on Jack's face turned out to be very prescient. How so?
Michigan State was a 14 point favorite to beat Central Michigan.
Central Michigan WON 29-27.
I may hold degrees from both universities but I think that my football heart lays with Michigan State.
It was a depressing afternoon, coupled with a UofM win, that sort of tested my interest in college football. For someone who I doesn't follow sports the way I used to I sure do take the losses hard.
It'll pass.
